Steed of Michel Delving

Supergirl rides the Steed of Michel Delving

Time moves on... I didn't write about the Bounders and their project of building a new statue in Michel Delving yet. The short version... Bounder's tokens, from Bounder Bags, dropped randomly from landscape and instance mobs and awarded from certain quests (like festival quests), turn in 1.75 million for a server (at Michel Delving), and get access to Bounder stuff. 1.75 million went faster than you might think. Arkenstone was probably on the last half for servers achieving it a few days ago.

Anywho, what is important is that after the server unlocks the goodies, one can get stuff, including the lovely Steed of Michel Delving for 1500 tokens. The steed comes with a normal horse, plus 5 warsteed pieces: caparison, halter, accessory, saddle and leggings.

Here are some pictures; I will get them into the All the Steeds Gallery soon... :)

Steed of Michel Delving:
In Hobbit-y fashion, this horse is loaded down like a pack mule. There is food and drink for days on the back end of the horse. The standard horse is a reddish brown and white pattern and fancy hobbit decorated.

WarSteed of Michel Delving - Default:
Here is the warsteed in default grey. An interesting thing that we have seen before is that this warsteed outfit does NOT dye. It is what it is. You can dye the hide though and I will show a few variations next. Overall, the default grey seems as fine as any. :) I thought the blondes match the gold outfit fairly well, but I haven't gotten those hide colors yet.

The halter matches the outfit well, but my horse wanted to let her hair down.

What does a bounder horse carry around? Let's see... on the left side, I see an iron pot, an hour glass, a lantern, 3 water skins... plus the cask and backpack directly behind the saddle...

...and on the right side, I see an iron skillet, a smoke pipe, a rucksack, and a bag crammed full of veggies. At least we will cook and eat well, I suppose.

Farmers Faire 2013: Steed of Plenty

Supergirl rides atop the Warsteed of Plenty

Farmer's Faire is here (from Sep 5 - 18 or 19), and there is no way I would miss it if I could help it!

This year, there are TWO new horses to obtain.

If you want to learn more about the quests, read CSTM's Farmer's Faire Guide. I mentioned lots of quest details and tricks last year at the inaugural Farmer's Faire with the story, Faire Hobbits don't get Drunk! and a critique at the end of the Faire. Overall, the Faire fixed the drunk hobbit quest, but made no progress to improve the "Golden Egg" or the "Fishy" quest/deed. As far as I know, the Fishy quest to not catch 50 fish before catching a bad fish has never been completed by anyone anywhere. That is stupid-bad odds.

Regardess, it is very easy to get Faire tokens. We do the "Manning the Market" quest which is to assist 6 customers within 15 minutes. It takes 7 - 8 minutes to do, and we get 6 Bounder's tokens bags for the 6 customers, plus the 24 Faire tokens. With the remaining time on the clock, we go over to do an Egg Hunt with random success, and the Mushroom Hunt which nearly always yields a high amount of tokens.

The new horses this year are the Summerfest Steed and the Steed of Plenty.

Summerfest Steed - the nearly-free horse: The Summerfest Steed is a must for everyone who can ride a horse. Even if you don't like horses, the price is so cheap you should not pass it up. The cost is 1 Farmers Faire token. Basically, if you just go over to the area, I think you get 3 tokens; so this is really a free horse. I have no idea why a horse named the Summerfest is at the Faire and not the summer festival, but I saw rumor that it was inadvertently left out of the festival.

Go get your nearly-free horse. Here is a look at him. He is a fine white horse with grey hair and bright summer green and bright yellow outfit.

Steed of Plenty:
The Steed of Plenty costs a bit more at 120 Faire tokens, so it might take a couple of days to get it. There is still time even if you haven't started so get enjoy the Faire!

WarSteed of Plenty:
The Warsteed of Plenty can be bartered also for 120 Faire tokens. The outfit is a one-piece only, called the Caparison of Plenty. For sure, this outfit is one for someone who really likes to have maximum effect from the outfit dye as every color is bright and sharp!

Here is the Default Warsteed outfit (which is Sienna), followed by a selection of different Warsteeds of Plenty in a variety of colors.

Overall, I really like this steed for its bold colors and subtle pattern and am excited to see it! Have a great Farmer's Faire. I'll be back soon to talk about Bounder's tokens, but until then, make the most of Bounder token collecting at the Faire!

Steed of the Greenwood

Supergirl rides the Warsteed of the Greenwood

Wow! I was trapped in the Phantom Zone for most of August and wasn't able to write, but that is a story for another time. It is already time for the newest Steed of the month. For September, it is the Steed of the Greenwood!

Here are the previous month's steeds:
As always, every steed in lotro can be found at All the Steeds, here at the site.

When purchased from the store, the steed comes with 4 pieces: Halter, Leggings, Saddle, Caparison.

What do we want?? horses! When do we want them?? Now! Alrighty, here we go...

Steed of the Greenwood: Here is the basic horse. The hide is a dark brown color and the cosmetic is a yellowish-green, giving him a foresty look.

WarSteed of the Greenwood - Default: Here is the Default Warsteed of the Greenwood, with standard grey hide and undyed cosmetics. Other than the typical comments about the warsteed hide color and more muscular shape, there is no visual difference to the basic horse.

The Greenwood set does not dye very much; the colors are more subtle and the Greenwood is a pervasive greenish yellow. Next are a few examples of the Warsteed dyed. As always, feel free to ask, if you really really need to see a certain color.

The most interesting aspect of the Greenwood is its sharp look from the front. The Halter is more of a mohawk. hehe. See what I mean in the next picture.

I hope you have a great month in Middle Earth! I look to be around more in September and have many more things to talk about! Thanks for continuing to visit :)
