Steed of Rivendell

Supergirl rides the Steed of Rivendell
Happy Summer! Next steed up for the summer is the Steed of Rivendell. This steed can be purchased in the store in two versions: (1) one character use only for 1995 TP, or (2) account wide use for 2995 TP. While it is one of my favorite steeds, I don't spend TP on the lildanas, hehe. To each her own.

Let's see some pictures! Friend and fellow adventurer TheElvenTailor also showed off this steed at TheElvenTailor/the-vale-of-imladris.

Steed of Rivendell:
Here is the standard horse. That is an interesting pale green outfit on a charcoal black horse. The pale green isn't a reproducible warsteed color but it shows up just fine in the warsteed default. One of my favorite things about this horse is the "tail light". That accessory on the back end is a lantern! I believe we have seen a couple of horses and goats with lights but this one is set in very stylish classy elven.

WarSteed of Rivendell - Default colors:
Here is the warsteed in Steed of Rivendell outfit. The outfit is still pretty awesome even on a grey horse. Let's see some more colors.

WarSteed of Rivendell - Black and default outfit:
Here is black hide with the default outfit. Yeah, that is very close to the basic horse except it is noticeable how grey the basic horse's tail is.

WarSteed of Rivendell - Liver Chestnut and Dark Green:
I am kicking myself that I didn't choose the "Rivendell Green" to show off on the Steed of Rivendell. :)

WarSteed of Rivendell - White and Crimson:
Wow. I really like the scrolled metal of this outfit. A potential drawback that has to be overlooked is that the lantern accessory is Green only. For comparison, I pulled it off this White hide and Crimson steed...

WarSteed of Rivendell - Sorrel and Evendim:
...and put the lantern accessory back onto this Sorrel hide and Evendim colored steed. You could probably come up with some two-tone coloring to blend the lantern accessory with the outfit a bit better than I did.

WarSteed of Rivendell - Red Roan and Ered Luin:
I think this last version might be my favorite (at least for today). These next pictures are with the Red Roan hide and Ered Luin outfit. The lantern trails light behind the horse; it is a very cool effect.

I love this scene at home in Falathlorn! I didn't even bother to crop it. :D

Y'all have a great summer. I'll be around!

Steed of ODOGIL

Supergirl rides the Steed of Odogil
Happy Anniversary Lotro! Just like that Lotro is 7 years old and hopefully it will be around many many more. With the Anniversary comes the Anniversary festival. The activities are the same and there are a few new goodies to get this year. Of course, my course was set for the horse and his name is Steed of Odogil. (Correction: If you read this post the first day, you might have noticed that I misspelled the steed's name; I originally spelled it Ogodil. I was very consistent misspelling it the same way through the entire post. :) Thank you Detective_Fallacy of reddit lotro, Reddit lotro - steed_of_ogodil )

There is a new robe and cloak. I'm sure I will get them and toss them in the vault; my friend The Elven Tailor showed some pictures of them at this post, Elven Tailor - 7th-anniversary.

If you need help finding the goodies, CSTM has you covered. The events are the same as last year, so the guide is still the best as always. CSTM - 6th Anniversary festival Guide

Anniversary Steeds: If you like and do not have them, previous Anniversary Steeds are available for barter or sale during the festival. I love that addition that began during this past Yule festival to allow newcomers to have access to previous festival steeds.

Here is a view of the ones available at the 2014 festival. Henry Peartree in the middle of Bree is one such barterer who sells them.
You can find the previous ones in the Horse Gallery, All the Steeds.

Anniversary festival can be lots of fun, especially with friends. And, if you haven't got friends, festival is a nice way to meet people. :)

Here are a few links to previous Anniversary festivals:

In a beginning hole far-far-away... (I was riding the 4th Anniversary Steed, aka Anniversary Steed in my first post)

Steed of Odogil: The Steed of Odogil is a bit Halloweeny to me. He is a black steed, black cloak with orange trim and stars.

Warsteed of Odogil - Default colors: The Warsteed of Odogil looks similar. We will see in the rest of the pictures that the black neck sash does not dye, so look for complements to a black neck. :)
Warsteed of Odogil - Default Colors

Warsteed of Odogil - Black with Black: The most obvious route to match the black undyeable neck is to keep the rest of the outfit black. Here the Warsteed in all black, which most closely resembles the original horse.

Warsteed of Odogil - White with White: Contrasting and showing off the undyeable part, here is White with white hide.

Warsteed of Odogil - Flaxen Chestnut hide, Copper Hair, Burgundy Outfit:
The tri-tone color scheme of the gold/black/dye outfit made me want to break from my routine of having hair and hide the same color. here is one I put together. What do you think?

Warsteed of Odogil - Black Cherstnut hide, Chestnut hair, Umber outfit:
So many choices for colors. Here is another one.

Warsteed of Odogil - Dun hide, Sooty hair, Ered Luin outfit:
Hmm, I think this combination might be one of my favorites. Which variations do you like?

I hope you have a great festival time! See you soon.
Here is a parting shot I took of a festivaller today at the Beer Brawl.... Good times. :)

Lalia’s Market (nearly free) Port

With Update 11, Lalia’s Market came to Bree. I really do like this idea. In the past, some people complained about the seamstresses putting mannequins out in the congregational hubs out in the world. I did notice some mannequins wearing the latest in fashion in Galtrev but otherwise, I am not looking for them so they never fazed me. In Galtrev, it felt like a shopping area under the gazebo where they were located anyway.

Now, Lalia set up a permanent shoppe in the center of Bree. Let's take a look.

A walk inside reveals that there is a long hall with vendors on either side. There are horses, and horse cosmetics, and clothes of all kinds on display. There is also a Vault, with easy access to pass your Bound to Account purchases to the rest of your team.

Of course, I visit with the warsteeds. The warsteeds Lalia has in the horse stall the night I visited were (L-R)  the Obsidian Steed, the Steed of the Warden (dyed yellow), the Steed of Victory, and the Steed of the Guardian (background). I didn’t check to see if all four were for sale since I already have them (see more images of all the store steeds at All-the-Steeds/ store-steeds), but I would guess that is why they are in the Market.

Here are some poppets break dancing in the shoppe. An orange butterfly looks on amused. I don't think the poppets or butterfly are for sale.

I catch up on the local gossip with two ladies of Bree. Word on the wind is that Spring festival will start this week.

Hey look! There is Lalia! She has taken up selling dyes. Well, fancy that. I scope out her dye prices to see how DanaClaus our team Scholar can use the AH to undercut Lalia’s prices. As the items in the market use Mithril Coins as currency, one would think that given a choice, most people will be sure to check the AH first for dyes.

The selection of cloaks is lovely. I think that if you look around though, you can find most all of these cloaks in game. My Draigoch cloak (top right) is still one of my favorite 3 cloaks; not to mention that it is the cloak I have equipped right now.

I didn’t leave empty handed though. Being the practical shopper I am, I bought only a “Return to Lalia’s Market”. It is a permanent port directly to the market in mid-town Bree and cost only 3 Mithril CoinsNow that is a deal! Even if I don’t need anything from the shoppe, I do like to fly around.

For the fashion-conscious, fellow blogger Cat, the Elven Tailor, took a much deeper look into the shoppe at the various rows of outfits. There are a bunch of them so go enjoy her pictures at The Elven Tailor/ thoughts-and-info-on-lailas-market.

Steed of the Winged Herald

What a lovely summer! It seems that people are on vacation or will be away, and that means an interesting opportunity has presented itself. I don’t want to give away the punch line even though I’m chomping at the bit to do so…. :D

To shift focus away at the moment, I will introduce to you, the Steed of the Winged Herald (aka Winged Steed).

This horse was surprisingly easy to obtain. It is part of lotro’s “Referral Program”. Do these very simple things:

(1) When signed into my.lotro.com, go to the header tab “Signup Rewards” (see picture above).

(2) Enter email addresses of friends that will help you out (it would be nice to discuss it beforehand with your friends to understand what needs to happen). Finish reading this post before you freak out about having to enter friends’ addresses.

(3) These 5 friends with email addresses will need to receive the automated lotro email saying that you referred them, click on the link to go to lotro signup, then enter newly created usernames for themselves.

I have been told by friends that the friend signup is super easy and takes just a moment. Once the friend has a username, the referral is considered a “success” for you and counts toward one of your five. The friend does not have to continue to download lotro or install anything… yeah, why wouldn’t they? None of my business… all I needed was the less than five minute assistance and I am on my merry way.

It is a +62% speed, +200 morale steed in a very interesting green feathered look. (Added note: The steed is account wide so all of your characters will be proud new owners of Winged Steeds.)

I also saw this steed recently on another blog, The Elven Tailor (http://theelventailor.blogspot.com/2012/06/call-to-war.html) in which Cat designed a gorgeous matching outfit! She has a way of making characters look like superheroes (at least in my eyes), which obviously rates well with me. :D Check her out!
